A rare natural phenomenon has been observed in Haiti. Many people have photographed a rainbow surrounding the sun at 12PM on Monday, May 26, 2014. This rainbow is believed to be a “Sun Halo”.
A sun halo, according to meteorologists, is caused by a refraction of sunlight passing through ice crystals in cirrus clouds within the Earth’s atmosphere. It forms what looks like a circular rainbow around the sun.
